We all know that for healthy living we require a balanced diet constituted of protein, carbohydrates and fats, minerals ,vitamines etc. Ayurveda has considered about the diet in detail. The Ayurvedic diet is one that not only nourishes the body, but also restores balance of 'Tridoshas' which is very much essential for maintaining Health. Depending on our dosha, or constitutional type, some foods can be beneficial, and others should be avoided. These same foods may have the opposite effect on another dosha. The science of Ayurveda teaches that right diet is the foundation of healing. For maximum health and vitality, the ideal diet is one that balances our doshas.

[ + ] One should take warm food – tastes good – stimulates Agni, Digests quickly.
[ + ] Unctuous food – tastes well, stimulates Agni, increases strength, complexion, firmness of sense organs.
[ + ] Space in the belly should be divided into 3 portions (for solids, liquids & another for air).
[ + ] Food should contain six tastes and should be taken in proper quantity – promotes life span, maintain normalcy of Agni.
[ + ] One should consider the heaviness, lightness of the food items.
[ + ] Eat only when previous meal is digested – prevents Ama.
[ + ] Food consisting of the items which are non-antagonistic in potency.
[ + ] Eat at favorable place & accessories
[ + ] Suitable of dietary items should be kept in mind.
[ + ] Take daily, salirice, green gram, Lavan, Amalaki, barley, milk, ghee & honey, Jivanthi leaves, grapes, pomegranate, wheat etc.
[ + ] Eat According to season.
[ + ] Sweet first, finish with pungent, bitter & astringent taste.

One should not eat,
[ + ] Food item from either attachment or ignorance.
[ + ] Too fast or too slow.
[ + ] While laughing or talking.
[ + ] Excess pippali (long pepper), Kshara (alkali) and Lavan (salt).
[ + ] Heavy preparation of flour, rice, flattened rice after having food.
[ + ] Viruddhahara (incompatibility of dietary items) – hence one should not consume unwholesome food.

[ + ] “kaalabhojananaarogyakaraanaam” – Timely intake of food is best for maintain of health.
[ + ] “Truptiraaharaagunaanaam” – Satisfaction is the best quantity of food.
[ + ] Diet cannot be same for all.
[ + ] The quantity, type taste etc will vary from individual to individual (based on their Prakruti, Desa, Kala and their capacity & Liking).

Provide vitamins, proteins and minerals to the body. Regular consumption keeps your body healthy and free tiredness.
Ingredients : Ragi, Whole Wheat, Maize, Groundnut, Cashew net, Pearl Millet, Foxtail Millet, Palm Candy, Sago, Cardamom, Fried Gram, Green Gram, Brown Rice, Badam, Jowar.
